"Energy remains the key area of ​​cooperation between the two countries," Yuri Borisov emphasized, "the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers said.

It is reported that "this year, the Serbian part of the gas pipeline was put into operation, connecting the Turkish Stream from the border with Bulgaria to the border with Hungary with the national gas transmission systems."

“Our joint work on completing the construction of the Serbian section of the gas pipeline and putting it into operation ensured the energy security of Serbia for a long time ... including oil and gas chemistry, which in turn will provide an additional contribution to the development of the Serbian economy, ”Borisov said following the meeting of the intergovernmental committee. 

The press service of the government also said that "the intergovernmental committee discussed further prospects for the participation of Russian companies in the construction of new and reconstruction of existing energy facilities in Serbia."

“During the meeting with President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, a thorough and constructive dialogue took place on key issues on the bilateral agenda.

They discussed current and promising joint projects in the fields of energy, industry and transport and other areas, ”added the Cabinet of Ministers.

In September, it was reported that the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev met in Moscow with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia, Aleksandr Vulin.
