Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The seven-day incidence of new corona infections in Hamburg has continued to decrease.

The health authority gave the value on Thursday at 89.5.

This means that the incidence is below the important mark of 100 for the second day in a row. A week ago, the agency had given the value as 109.3.

Using a different calculation basis, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has determined a value of less than 100 for Hamburg for nine days. On Thursday, the RKI reported an incidence of 78.1 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days.

This is still the second lowest value in Germany after Schleswig-Holstein (54.7).

In total, the city reported 280 confirmed new infections on Thursday.

That is 57 more than on Wednesday and 121 less than on Thursday a week ago.

According to the RKI, the number of people who died from or in connection with Corona in Hamburg rose by four.

This means that the number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic is 1513.

According to the health authority, 232 Covid 19 patients were treated in the Hamburg clinics as of Wednesday - eight more than on Tuesday.

The number of patients in intensive care units fell by eight to 95.

According to the health authority, 73,338 hamburgers have been shown to have been infected with Sars-CoV-2 since the outbreak of the pandemic.

According to the RKI, 65 100 of them are considered recovered.

According to the RKI, 548 482 people in Hamburg were vaccinated at least once and 137 542 people twice.
