Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The seven-day incidence of new corona infections in Hamburg has fallen below the important 100 mark again.

After the city had calculated that the value fell below 100 for the first time since mid-March at 98.6 on Monday, it was back at 100.9 on Tuesday, only to drop to 95.8 on Wednesday, as the health authority announced.

Compared to the previous week, the value fell by 14.2.

On a different calculation basis, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for Hamburg has been giving a value of less than 100 for eight days - currently there are 86 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days.

This is the second lowest value nationwide after Schleswig-Holstein (55).

In total, the city reported 223 confirmed new infections on Wednesday.

That's 30 less than on Tuesday and 96 less than Wednesday a week ago.

The number of people who died of or in connection with Corona in Hamburg was 1509 - five more than the day before.

According to the health authority, 224 Covid 19 patients were treated in the Hamburg clinics as of Tuesday - three fewer than on Monday.

The number of patients in intensive care units also fell by three to 103.

According to the health authority, 73,058 Hamburgers have been proven to have been infected with Sars-CoV-2 since the outbreak of the pandemic.

According to the RKI, 64 700 of them are considered recovered.
