Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days in North Rhine-Westphalia continues to fall.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave an incidence value of 144.3 on Thursday.

The day before, the key figure was 148.2.

Nationwide, the number of Covid-19 cases rose by 4912. 49 people died in connection with Corona within 24 hours.

17 of the 53 NRW districts and independent cities were above the threshold of 165. From this limit, schools in distance teaching and daycare centers go into emergency operation.

Six municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia - Münster, Coesfeld, Höxter, Soest, Lippe and Rhein-Sieg-Kreis - fell below the threshold of 100, which is decisive for the federal emergency brake. The Soest district continued to have the lowest incidence at 66.9.

The front runner was still the Hamm, but the value fell significantly from 277.9 on Wednesday to 254.0.

The largest city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Cologne, had an incidence value of 177.7.
