Rostock (dpa / mv) - The State Office for Health and Social Affairs reported 92 detected new corona infections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on Monday.

That was ten more than a week ago, as the office in Rostock announced.

There were also nine other deaths related to the virus.

The total number of people who have died of or with Corona since the beginning of the pandemic in the northeast is now 1009.

The seven-day incidence continued to decrease, from 120.5 on Sunday to 115.5 on Monday.

The most severely affected district remains Ludwigslust-Parchim with an incidence of 207.3, which is due, among other things, to a local outbreak in a vehicle factory in Lübenheen.

A value of 141.1 is reported for the state capital Schwerin, 131.1 for Western Pomerania-Greifswald, 111.2 for Northwest Mecklenburg and 101.5 for the Mecklenburg Lake District.

The district of Rostock with an incidence of 79.2, the district of Vorpommern-Rügen (81.0) and the Hanseatic city of Rostock (88.0) are below the 100 mark.

The seven-day incidence shows the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.

The northeast is making further progress with vaccination: According to the office, 30.2 percent of people in the country have been vaccinated for the first time.

7 percent have complete protection after two peaks.

The total number of corona infections detected so far in the northeast is currently 40 690. Around 35 751 people are considered to have recovered.

As of Monday, there were still 306 corona patients in the clinics, 85 of whom were treated in intensive care units.
