Accompanied by protests, the Berlin police evacuated the alternative neighborhood bar "Meuterei" in Berlin-Kreuzberg on Thursday morning.

Two women were taken out of the house.

The left-wing scene had announced protests across the city.

As the police tweeted, smoke pots and fireworks were set off.

A demonstration moved in the morning with around 400 participants from Kottbusser Tor towards Reichenberger Straße.

A bailiff was on site during the "mutiny", the police wanted to hand over the rooms to the owner after an inspection.

Police officers were on duty with sledgehammers and chainsaws, among other things.

"The evacuation of the property went according to plan," said spokeswoman Anja Dierschke.

There were therefore no major incidents.

According to the police, eight cars burned during the night in four locations in Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg, Lichtenberg and Reinickendorf.

Tires were burning in front of the Reinickendorf Public Order Office and the facade of the building was damaged.

A connection with the left-wing protests is being examined, there is still no confessor.

The State Criminal Police Office is investigating.

15 to 20 people tried to roll out a banner on the street at Kottbusser Tor, according to the police.

This was therefore stopped.

The police also arrested three suspects near the place in Berlin-Mitte where cars were on fire.

The trio was caught spraying a wall.

Evidence had been confiscated, the police said on Thursday.

The act is said to have been politically motivated.

The suspects are two 34 and 40-year-old women and a 43-year-old man, the police said.

It is being investigated whether they set fire to two luxury cars on Hannoversche Strasse and Neue Schönhauser Strasse.

The police wanted to be deployed in the city with a total of up to 1,100 people.

Twelve demonstrations were registered.

Heated atmosphere in front of a pub in Berlin

The "mutiny" was largely cordoned off.

The demonstrators were behind bars.

The mood there was heated, there were a few firecrackers.

Some residents hit pots on their balconies during the eviction.

Many protesters wore corona protective masks.

They were dressed in black and shouted slogans like "pubs to those who drink in them".

A banner read: “The signs point to a storm”.

“Decentralized resistance actions” of the left-wing scene throughout the city were announced on the Internet.

The eviction of the "mutiny", whose lease had expired, was seen in the left scene as a symbol for the displacement of alternative locations in Berlin.

On Tuesday evening, more than a thousand mostly young people demonstrated against the eviction.

There were arrests and reports.

In spring, further arguments about symbols of the left and radical left scene are expected in Berlin.

In April the dispute over the occupied house "Rigaer 94" in Friedrichshain could escalate.

Then May 1st is approaching with the announcement of protests in Kreuzberg.
