The torch relay for the Tokyo Olympics, which begins on July 23rd, will begin on the 25th at J Village, a soccer facility in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.



Today (25th) at around 9 am, the torch departure ceremony will be held at J Village with Hashimoto Seiko, chairman of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee and Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike, attending.



In order to streamline the event to prevent the spread of Corona 19, Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga will not attend the departure ceremony.



The members of the Japanese national team'Nadeshiko Japan' who won the 2011 Women's Soccer World Cup in Germany, when the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred, will be the first torch relay runners.



The torch relay, which begins at 9:40 am on this day, will be held for 121 days until July 23, when the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics is held.



Approximately 10,000 beacon runners are expected to run all over Japan in 47 prefectures and prefectures.



In order to prevent the spread of Corona 19, the Japanese government and the convention organizing committee have prepared quarantine measures, such as refraining from supporting crowded streets or supporting expeditions outside of their residence.
