Göttingen (dpa) - In the sixth attempt, the basketball players from Syntainics BC succeeded in their first win of the season.
The Weißenfelser retained the upper hand on Saturday during their guest appearance at the BG Göttingen with 93:85 (48:37) and were thus able to move away from the relegation zone.
Michal Michalak (23), Roko Rogic (20) and Shavon Coleman (19) had the largest share in the first colon win for the Central Germans.
Aubrey Dawkins (24) and Tai Odiase (19) scored the most points for Göttingen.
The guests moved in the first quarter with a 12-0 run from 7: 7 (4th) to 19: 7 (7th) and increased their lead to 63:45 by the 25th minute.
But the home side didn't give up and came again threateningly close at 84:81 a good three minutes before the end.
But the Weißenfelser kept their nerve and finally cleared the fronts at 89:81 (39th).
