Nîmes won its sixth victory in eleven matches played in the French Handball Championship, winning with difficulty at home against Saint-Raphaël 30 to 29 late Saturday afternoon.

The USAM, which remained on a defeat in Aix (30-17), consolidates its sixth place (13 points) of an insignificant ranking because of the multiple postponements of matches caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Neck to neck at the end of a balanced and rhythmic first period (14-15), Nîmes inflicted a 4-0 at the start of the second to the Raphaëlois (35th, 18-15), with in particular three goals from Michaël Guigou, including two 7m jets (8 achievements in total).

With only one goal ahead of the game 25 seconds from the end of the game, the Gardois mastered the last possession to secure victory.

Despite the remarkable performance of the Var goalkeeper Alexandre Demaille (17 saves at 40%) and the six goals of Raphaël Caucheteux, the SRVHB points after this fifth defeat in eleven matches played, in 8th place (9 pts).
