Miss France will be entitled to her own museum! Scheduled for spring 2025, it is in Saint-Raphaël in the Var that a 500 square meter house will house the archive costumes from the legendary beauty contest. With a budget of 1.5 million euros for the development of the site, an immersive tour of photos and videos will be offered.

500 square meters of iconic accessories and costumes. This is what the future Miss France museum has in store for visitors to Saint-Raphaël, in the Var, reports Var Matin. With an estimated development cost of 1.5 million euros, the museum should open in spring 2025. Constantly evolving, each election will be an opportunity to add new elements to the historical collection. “And there will not only be costumes”, specifies Frédéric Gilbert, the president of the Miss France company, “we will also present accessories, shoes and the tiaras of certain Misses.”

2,530 costumes to (re)discover

Through videos and archive images, visitors will be immersed in an immersive experience, at the heart of the evolution of the beauty contest. This new project was born from a collaboration between the Miss France company and the mayor of Saint-Raphaël, Frédéric Masquelier. It all starts during the Miss Provence 2023 election: the president of the company mentions a stock of 2,530 costumes which have been gathering dust for 11 years in a premises in Seine-Saint-Denis. “He told me about this immense stock of unused costumes. Immediately, in my head, it clicked,” says Frédéric Masquelier to Var Matin.

“With Amandine Catala, the woman behind all these costumes, we said to ourselves that it was sad that all these sublime outfits had remained in a dark room for so many years. Some pieces required more than 200 hours of work,” indicates Frédéric Gilbert in a press release. “The idea came to create an exhibition revealing, beyond television, the incredible work done on these costumes which highlights French know-how,” continues the president of the Miss France company. See you in spring 2025 to discover these archives!
