Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - Second division football team Fortuna Düsseldorf has not written off its return to the Bundesliga for a long time and wants to continue its path as a “member-led club”.

This was said by CEO Thomas Röttgermann on Saturday at the club's first digital general meeting.

The club boss promised the up to 2,300 connected members: "There will be no outsourcing of the professional society, no investor," emphasized Röttgermann, who, like his fellow board members, was exonerated.

The club has economically stable numbers in difficult times, he said.

For the first time as a board member, Klaus Allofs spoke to the members.

The return to the Bundesliga is the goal and Uwe Rösler is probably the right coach for it.

«When I watched the games in the second half of the season in the Bundesliga, I thought that the team had developed further under him.

Even if the results weren't the same afterwards, I still believe that Uwe Rösler can be the right coach for us, ”he said of long-time Fortuna professional and national player.
