Suhl (AP) - The Suhl Bundesliga volleyball players have continued their highs and also won the prestigious Thuringia derby against Schwarz-Weiß Erfurt with 3: 0 (25:23, 25:17, 25:20).

The Erfurt women, currently in eleventh place in the table, did not want to surrender to the sixth in the Suhl "Wolfsgrube" without a fight and kept the first sentence open for a long time.

After they even took the lead shortly after the start, the team of Suhl's coach Laszlo Hollosy made up the deficit again and took the lead 12: 9.

However, Erfurt always stayed in close contact, equalized at about 20:20, only to take the lead again shortly after (21:22 from Suhl's point of view).

But the more varied VfB attack and the more aggressive Suhl game ultimately made the difference for the hosts.

The Suhlers took the momentum with them into the second set, in which they never gave the team of Erfurt coach Dirk Sauermann a real chance.

But even after that, the guests from the Thuringian state capital did not want to add, initially kept the third round open.

Only when Laura de Zwart started to serve on Suhl's side did the tide turn in favor of VfB, who now put more pressure into their actions and took the lead at 16:12 in the second technical break.

The 24:19 meant the preliminary decision for VfB, who also transformed the match point through captain Claudia Steger.
