This means that since the beginning of the pandemic, 88 078 people have demonstrably been infected with the virus, as the Berlin Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced on Tuesday (as of 00:00).
The RKI reported 50 new deaths associated with the pathogen.
This increased the number to 1298.

The so-called incidence - i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days - was 153 on Tuesday in Hesse.

According to the intensive care register of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive and Emergency Medicine (DIVI), 350 corona patients in Hesse received intensive care in hospitals (as of Tuesday, 3:19 p.m.).
This corresponded to 19 percent of the intensive care beds occupied.
213 patients had to be ventilated.
