The number of deaths related to the virus remained at 278, as the Ministry of Social Affairs announced on Sunday (as of 6 p.m.).
The number of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days (incidence value) was given as almost 124.
That was well above the value 50, which marks the threshold to the risk area.
On Sunday a week ago there were 11,691 infected - a good 1200 fewer.
Of the positively confirmed cases since the virus first appeared in Saarland, 10,382 people are now considered cured.
Currently, 2,254 people are actively infected in Saarland.
207 Covid-19 patients are currently being treated as inpatients - 55 of them in intensive care units.
Experience has shown that the numbers are slightly lower on the weekend than during the week, because there is less testing.
