There have been a record number of bankruptcies in the restaurant industry during April's first three weeks. In total, 54 companies in the county have been overturned, according to the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.
Although the restaurants Gondolen, Erik's back pocket and Bazaar are well established, margins are small. The pub owner Anna Lallerstedt has already been forced to give notice and lay off about 120 employees. She has also filed for bankruptcy.
- It took 40 years for my parents to build up the companies. In a couple of weeks almost everything is ruined, says Anna Lallerstedt.
