In Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, where a Hokuriku Shinkansen station opened, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's Blue Impulse performed an aerobatic flight to commemorate the opening.

The Blue Impulse flight took place over Komatsu City as part of an event commemorating the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen.

Many people, including people with cameras and families, gathered in the plaza in front of Komatsu Station, waiting for the flight team to appear.

Around 1:30 p.m., a row of planes appeared with a loud sound, and one after another they drew a large heart symbol and six rings shaped like cherry blossoms in white smoke against the clear blue sky.

The crowd cheered, clapped, and took photos.

``Blue Impulse'' will fly over the Noto region, which was severely damaged by the earthquake, on the 17th.

A 5th grade elementary school boy visiting from Kanazawa City said with a smile, ``It was sunny today, so I could clearly see all kinds of shapes.''

A man in his 50s visiting from Toyama Prefecture said, ``Today I was able to see both the Shinkansen and Blue Impulse.I hope that tomorrow will also cheer up the disaster victims.''
