European countries continue their slow deconfinement in disorder. The latest decisions come from the Netherlands where the slow return to normal will start with primary schools. Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced on Tuesday a resumption of school for May 11 even if the other Dutch must remain vigilant.

From our correspondent in Brussels,

According to the Dutch Institute of Public Health, RIVM, the reopening of primary schools does not pose a risk of overload for hospitals. The Batavian government has therefore decided that primary schoolchildren could return to school from May 11, a measure which also applies to children in crèches.

But the system put in place by the government of Prime Minister Mark Rutte provides for work-study programs. Not every other week as further south in Luxembourg, but rather every other day. The schools will decide for themselves the practical organization, but the principle is to halve the size of the classes.

Secondary school should follow in early June if nothing changes by then. Under 12s can start team sports again on April 28, while 12-18s can only practice sports allowing a gap of one and a half meters.

All the other restrictive measures, on the other hand, are extended until May 19 and the Dutch government has even extended until September 1 the ban on events, which obviously concerns festivals, clearance sales or sports meetings.
