Due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the government has received many inquiries from the public, so we have introduced a mechanism on the website of the Cabinet Secretariat where AI = Artificial Intelligence will automatically answer the questions, and from the future SNS etc. We are considering expanding it so that it can be used.
What was introduced is a mechanism called "chatbot" in which AI automatically responds to inquiries from users, and can be used on the homepage of the new coronavirus infectious disease control promotion room in the Cabinet Secretariat.
If you enter a question or keyword regarding the new coronavirus, AI will recognize the content and highly relevant information will be displayed from the database of related ministries such as the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
According to the Cabinet Secretariat, since it was introduced on 13th of this month, it has already been used more than 10,000 times. Therefore, we will enhance the database so that we can respond to more inquiries in the future, and also from SNS and smartphone applications. We are considering expanding the system so that it can be used.
In addition, we will also pursue an analysis of what kind of inquiries are frequently received, and seek to reflect this in related policies.
