Instead, the churches have had to rethink and the services are now broadcast digitally on the web. So do all the collections during Easter, from the Thursday to the second Easter.

- We have received good response to the services. Many who usually come to church have followed us there as well. Hopefully also some new ones, says Ann Aldén, pastor.

Have the older visitors even found their way there?

- This is an important evaluation that we must do. But my experience is that many elderly people are surprisingly connected today.

Most visitors

Easter is one of the biggest festivals of the church year and the ten churches in Jönköping city usually have the most visitors in the country during the holiday, says Ann Aldén.

But this Easter had to be different.

- Yes, it has been different. And very calm. The religious services have been recorded a little in advance, but we have also been present at the church at the time they were sent. We have been a handful of people.

Are digital services something you will continue with even after the pandemic?

- I think so, I can't promise, but I believe it. Since we do not know how long we will be separated, we will continue throughout April and May. And I think we will also be more digital in the long term when we get out of this, says Ann Aldén.
