Believing that "the second round will obviously not take place given the foreseeable worsening of the epidemic" of coronavirus, Marine Le Pen asked Sunday to consider as "acquired" the victories in the first round and "postpone the others" .
The president of the National Gathering suggested postponing the second round to "in a few months when the epidemic is over."
"The time is not for politics (...) The time is for the health war, and every hour counts," she added.
However, she stressed that "everyone will have noticed the delays, the delays in taking into consideration the seriousness of the pandemic, the ideological and often contradictory choices of the government and the President of the Republic".
"One day, the balance sheet will have to be drawn from the decisions taken by the President of the Republic and especially from those which were not taken," she said.
Marine Le Pen reiterated its request to close the borders "with the most affected countries: Italy, Spain, Iran among others" as well as the closure of the airport platforms, with the exception of links with the Overseas Territories and the return of "compatriots".
