According to the sources, the members of the Council are awaiting today a decision to postpone the seventh session of the first regular session of the seventeenth legislative session, which is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, to discuss a general topic regarding the services provided by telecommunications companies, especially after the government announcement to activate the remote work system in a way Partial in the federal authorities, provided that the council resumes its activities according to the developments and developments of the situation.

According to Article (91) of the internal regulations of the council, the council will hold its regular sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday of every two weeks, unless the council decides otherwise, or there are no actions requiring the meeting, while Article (89) of the regulations states that it is permissible by a decree issued by the president The Federation, with the approval of the Council of Ministers, delays the meetings of the Council for a period that does not exceed 30 days, and the postponement in a single session is not repeated except with the approval of the Council, and for one period and the delay period is not counted within the period of the regular session of the Council.

The National Council devoted a session next Tuesday to discuss the topic of “services provided by telecommunications companies”, in the presence of officials of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, in light of the final report submitted by the end of last week to the Technical Affairs, Energy and Mineral Resources Committee to the presidency of the Council, which covered the topic from five main axes It included «Emiratization, provision of services to people of determination, quality of services provided to the public, social responsibility, and foreseeing the future of the telecommunications industry».

The parliamentary report ended with a number of recommendations that the Council intends to discuss and adopt, most notably the work to attract citizens and motivate them to work in the communications and information technology sector, increase specialized and technical training programs and provide the necessary financial credits to them, with the formation of a committee from the General Authority for Regulating the Telecommunications Sector, which is concerned with reviewing the causes The resignation of citizens in the telecom operators.
