Home community care is the mainstream care method for the elderly in my country. How to allow the elderly to enjoy high-quality community care services and give full play to the role of communities in home care for the elderly is a hot topic of discussion among representatives of the two sessions this year.

On the eve of the National Two Sessions, the China Youth Newspaper Social Survey Center and the Questionnaire Network (wenjuan.com) conducted a survey on youth expectations of the National Two Sessions, with a total of 2,002 people participating.

The survey shows that in order to better play the role of communities in home care for the elderly, 59.2% of the respondents expect to establish a smart platform for home community care services based on neighborhood committees/village committees, and 56.0% of the respondents hope to provide Day care, rehabilitation care, meal assistance and other services.

"After I recovered from mastitis last year, the doctor asked for regular check-ups, but the big hospital was too far away and I couldn't go alone. After consulting a community hospital recently, I found that the community hospital can do relevant B-ultrasound examinations, which is a lot more convenient."

Liu Lian, an elderly person born in the 1960s, said that the elderly have great demand for medical treatment and hopes that community hospitals will continue to strengthen their diagnosis and treatment capabilities. At the same time, some elderly people also need help with daily care. She hopes that representatives of the two sessions this year will pay more attention to integrated medical and nursing services for the elderly.

"Some communities have smart elderly care home care beds, which can monitor the heart rate and other indicators of the elderly in real time. Some communities have also established smart service platforms so that the elderly can make online consultations and make meal reservations at home." Yang Pengju, a community resident in Shanxi, is looking forward to the two sessions. These related calls have allowed such smart service platforms to be established in more communities.

Yang Pengju said that meal assistance service is a common practical need of the elderly, so the community must first have a community canteen.

Secondly, many elderly people now generally attach great importance to the quality of life, and the construction of cultural venues in the community is also essential.

"After my granddaughter went to kindergarten, I had more free time. I used to like painting and playing cucurbit flute. Now that I have my own time, I want to pick up both of them. If the community can have corresponding painting classes and musical instrument teams, I will Participate in cultural activities during the day, and don’t delay picking up the children in the morning and afternoon." Liu Lian looks forward to the two sessions this year focusing on the construction of community cultural venues.

Liu Jingting, a post-1995 elderly care worker in Beijing, started working in elderly care after graduating from a vocational school majoring in elderly care.

Liu Jingting believes that to improve the elderly care experience, we must first have a professional nursing team and improve the career assessment system in this industry, so as to attract more young people to join.

Liu Jingting hopes that this year’s Two Sessions will continue to have representative members pay attention to relevant topics.

In addition, 49.5% of the respondents suggested focusing on the aging-friendly renovation of housing and public facilities, 47.1% of the respondents hoped to strengthen the funding guarantee for the integrated medical and nursing care service system, and 41.8% of the respondents suggested strengthening the construction of community cultural venues to enrich the elderly. In terms of people's lives, 37.5% of the respondents expect to strengthen the construction of a standardized talent team for elderly care services, and 29.1% of the respondents hope to improve the capabilities of community doctors in elderly care, first-diagnosis referral, etc.
