His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received the Prime Minister of the friendly Republic of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who is visiting the UAE. His Highness and the Greek Prime Minister discussed developments in the Middle East, especially the eastern Mediterranean and Libya, as well as regional and international issues of common concern.

The two sides affirmed the compatibility of Emirati-Greek views in support of work to find a settlement to the crisis in Libya that meets the aspirations of the brotherly Libyan people in development and peace, and put an end to the flow of terrorist elements to their lands, and expressed their support for international and regional efforts in this regard.

The two parties also stressed the rejection of any policies or procedures that threaten stability in the Mediterranean, because of its great importance for international peace and security, and the need to respect the rules of international law on maritime borders and deal with oil and gas resources in the region.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness welcomed the visit of the Greek Prime Minister, noting that it comes at an important time and is gaining a great deal of importance, and will have a great impact in strengthening and strengthening the existing friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the two friendly peoples.

His Highness said that the Emirati-Greek relations are characterized by depth, distinction and privacy, and are based on a strong political will, a solid base of common interests and the compatibility of visions and orientations.

The meeting, which was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, dealt with bilateral relations and ways to support and develop them in various fields and raise them to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership.

It was agreed to form joint working committees to move forward in developing aspects of cooperation between the two friendly countries, to reach this comprehensive strategic partnership during the coming period.

The meeting also discussed ways to develop and promote relations between the two countries in the economic, technological, cultural, social and educational fields, in addition to infrastructure, tourism, energy and other fields.
