A 40-year-old man was sentenced to two years in prison by the Rennes Criminal Court on Thursday for drug trafficking and possession of a weapon. It was his daughter, aged 14, who alerted the gendarmes, reports Ouest-France . During the search, the investigators had discovered 16,000 euros in cash hidden in the freezer and 2.5 kilos of cannabis resin.

The facts took place on December 30 in the town of Parthenay-de-Bretagne, northwest of Rennes. A teenage girl calls the gendarmes to denounce her father's trafficking. According to her, the latter has just hit her. The investigators will also discover a revolver and ammunition.

The man admitted the facts and was sentenced to two years in prison. He was placed in detention, reports Ouest-France .
