A member of the school's educational team then intervened, causing the suspect to flee, who was arrested shortly after and placed in police custody for "attempted kidnapping of a 15-year-old minor, acts of a criminal nature ", specified the magistrate.

The suspect had previously followed another teenage girl

“About twenty minutes earlier, he had followed another teenage girl for several hundred meters as she tried to get to her bus stop.” But the young girl “realized it” and “was able to be taken by car to school by a neighbor whom she came across by chance,” added Samuel Finielz.

Started on Monday, the custody of the suspect, "already convicted on several occasions", notably for sexual assaults, but which did not target minors, was extended by 24 hours, according to the prosecutor, who specified that this man was released from prison at the end of 2023. A judicial investigation will “very certainly” be opened, “probably Wednesday early in the morning”, also underlined the magistrate.
