27 September 2019The medal of Samuele Battistella at the World Championships in Yorkshire becomes golden. The Federciclismo, after an hour of suspense, has dissolved the reservation on the final result and the jury has modified the order of arrival of the test in line under 23: disqualified for towing the Dutch Nils Eekhoff and the twenty year old Venetian, Samuele Battistella, promoted to the top step of the podium.

It is the second gold medal for Italy in this world championship after the one won by Antonio Tiberi in the junior time trial, and the fourth medal in total in the world championship show, given that the bronze of Filippo Ganna in the time trial is added to the blue booty elite and silver won by Alessio Martinelli in the junior line test.

Battistella's gold arrived at the end of a 173 km route between Doncaster and Harrogate.
