"During the dispersal, 52 people were injured, 38 of whom were law enforcement officers, and the rest were participants in the action," the department said.

Previously reported 16 affected.

It was noted that the Georgian police used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the protesters. Some of the protesters some time later returned to the parliament building.

In turn, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze accused the opposition of destabilizing the situation.
