"Despite the general background in relation to Russia and the fact that the Russian media are accused of advocacy, ... sometimes there are opinions that this threat, to put it mildly, is overestimated and unreliable ... Some statements can be, but these are exceptions that prove the rule “- said Asafov.

He added that this opinion does not have a chance to become popular in the political circles of Latvia.

"It (the opinion of the imaginary threat - RT ) can be supported by a large number of residents ... but it will not affect the public policy," the expert believes.

Earlier, Sputnik Latvia reported that at a joint meeting of the commissions on foreign affairs, human rights and public affairs, Kuchinskis called the problem of a threat emanating from the Russian media “far-fetched”.
