Doaa Abdel Latif - Cairo

It seems that the drama of Ramadan this year is consistent with the general atmosphere in Egypt, as if a military officer sat on the director's seat to get out all the TV series in a single and delicate fashion.

The beginning was last summer when the pages of some of the art workers on social networking sites news of the acquisition of one company to produce drama, with a specific number of serials to manufacture and then show during the month of Ramadan, not more than 20 series compared to about 50 series in the past years .

Not only did the company "Senergy" name the number of serials, but also the ceiling of the actors involved in the works to end the era of tens of millions of artists as we have seen over the past seven years, especially with the direction of the artist Adel Imam drama, which is the highest pay among the stars of art.

State support
The company that acquired the rights of the drama industry seems to be directly subsidized by the state. For example, the bodies responsible for the complaints of workers in this field have not been aware of the great damage they suffered, with a certain number of serials and one company controlling their production.

The Egyptian government has also blocked all the websites that show the Ramadan series for Senergy, which launched the "watch it" application, in which it can buy the right to watch the drama on the Internet without the advertisements being interrupted.

But the state provided a legal cover for the company so that the drama committee of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Media issued a resolution that requires satellite channels for a maximum of 70 million pounds for the purchase of a single series, which observers considered a direct cause of the wholesale losses of channels and producers who spend more than specified amounts on their dramas.

What's more, the scene is that Senergy is involved in owning channels of life, CBC, ONTV and DMC, which means that the producer of the series is the same one that buys it, Closed.

Adult Exit
This restricted atmosphere of the drama industry led to the absence of top stars from the competition in Ramadan and the Arab viewers used to follow their work during the season such as Adel Imam, Yehia Al Fakharani, Yousra and Nili Karim.

For example, the artist Adel Imam sued for his last work last season 45 million pounds, a fee that will not be allowed by the new laws restricting the volume of spending on a single series.

The exit of the adults led to a gap that was remedied by the escalation of new heroes who are trying the first absolute championship, such as the artist Yasmine Sabri, who participates in the series "Hakayti" and Amina Khalil through the series "Cain" and artist Dina Sherbini, Despite the modest success of her work "Malika" last Ramadan.

In addition to the payment of a number of low-wage heroes such as Mustafa Shaaban, Hani Salama, Mohammad Rajab, Yasser Jalal, Amir Karara, Mohammed Adel Imam and Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz.

One frequency
At the same rate as the Ramadan drama since 2014, Ramadan 2019 series of police and army are making perfect heroes who do not make mistakes and sacrifice all they have for the community.

This may be acceptable if it is dramatized, but in most businesses it seems as though the idea of an idealized security man is cloned and duplicated in the context of all the serials, as in the Cain and the Last Nafs.

In contrast, any opponents of the Authority are mutilated, dressed in foreign labor and receiving foreign funding, as described in the series "Kalbash", which presents the third part of this year, a work that became an icon to polish the police officer and demonize the opposition.

Also, an Egyptian series will be presented during the current month of Ramadan thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Interior to complete its work.

On the other hand, the theme of the oppressed hero, which turns into revenge and violence, continued in a series of dramas, in which the stars included the passage from the success gate like Mohammad Ramadan in the series "Zlala", "Yasser Jalal" , And Ahmad al-Sakka in "born al-Ghulaba".

Comedy is faint
In addition to serious works, the Egyptian drama presented a number of comedic works such as "Badla al-Huduta Talata" by Donia Samir Ghanem, "Wad Sayed Shehat" by Ahmed Fahmy, "An Idea in a Million Pounds" by Ali Rabie, "Talka Luck" by Mostafa Khater, 18 "for Hassan Al-Raddad," Al-Bernesseh Baisa "by Mai Ezzeddin and" Yober Miro "by Amy Samir Ghanem.

And on the large number of this type of work, it seems that all of them did not receive public acceptance, but the reactions came as a criticism of the lack of serials for real comedy.

For his part, the artistic critic Nader Adly said that the series of Ramadan comedy did not show them what drives the viewer to complete the episodes of the end, describing all the work presented by the weak, and the performance of the actors deliberately.

He added, in a press statement, that some serials reached a high degree of naivety and fabrication of positions to laugh viewers, until it reached the absurd.
