"We will comprehensively assess our needs for national biosecurity and constantly monitor the implementation of our strategy in order to effectively calculate the resources and actions of the government in the field of biosecurity," says Trump's statement published on the White House website.

It is noted that the new biosecurity strategy will cover the whole range of biological threats, including those that are natural, intentional and accidental.

According to the memorandum, a special coordination council will be established to counter biological threats.

Earlier, Trump signed decrees allowing to circumvent import quotas for steel and aluminum from South Korea, Brazil and Argentina.
