This was announced by the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Yevgeny Zinichev during a meeting with the French ambassador to Moscow, Sylvie Bermann.

The Russian minister expressed his sympathy to the head of the French diplomatic mission in connection with the tragic consequences of the fire in the Cathedral of Notre Dame.

Zinichev noted that the Cathedral of Notre Dame is one of the greatest symbols of the world cultural and spiritual heritage.

“If necessary, the EMERCOM of Russia is ready to send its specialists to Paris with the necessary equipment to assist in identifying the causes of the fire and assessing the sustainability of the damaged buildings and structures of the cathedral,” he said.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that everyone was watching the fire in the Cathedral of Notre Dame with tears in his eyes.

Vladimir Roitman, a professor at the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering and the Academy of State Fire Service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, commented on the reports about the delay in calling firefighters in Notre Dame.
