Apparently the attackers spilled gasoline and set the concert hall on fire. Rescue workers rush to put out the flames, and a fire-fighting helicopter is even used. It took hours for the fire to be extinguished, and flames were still blazing out of the building the following morning.

The authorities spoke of “terror” early on and tried to establish a connection to the war in Ukraine. Kyiv firmly rejects any involvement. Late in the evening, the terrorist organization “Islamic State” claimed responsibility for the attack. Experts think this is plausible.
