On September 3, the district court of the Tyumen region found the head of the city of Tyumen guilty of an accident and ordered him to pay a fine of 160 thousand rubles for violation of traffic rules, which caused the death of two people.

During the preliminary investigation, the speaker acknowledged his guilt, repented and paid compensation to members of the families of victims of moral harm in the amount of 2.8 million rubles.

On September 17, Governor of the Tyumen region Alexander Moore stated that "all violations must be considered in accordance with the law, regardless of the status of the violator or public outcry."

RT contacted the relatives of the victims. Marina Nurkanova, mother of taxi driver Vladislav Smolenkov, said that the politician sincerely repented and asked for forgiveness. In addition, Nurkanova urged to stop public discussion of the incident.

Natalia Pak, the widow of the deceased passenger Artem Park, stated that she would not appeal the verdict. The woman told that she alone brings up four children and is pregnant with the fifth. According to her, she received compensation from the culprit of the accident and on this money repaired the house. Pak noted that she did not receive any additional payments.

At the end of June, on the Tyumen-Kurgan Yeremeyev highway, driving the Land Cruiser 200 off-road vehicle, he drove to the oncoming lane at night, colliding with the Toyota Avensis, which was operated by 23-year-old Vladislav Smolenkov. He and a taxi passenger, 30-year-old father of four children, Artem Pak, were killed.
