The Committee on State Building and Legislation has already sent the draft law to the State Duma Council. Deputies proposed making a number of amendments to the document.
The explanatory note to the draft states that the law makes an addition to the Criminal Code to classify all crimes of sabotage as activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation.
“In order to suppress the financing of such crimes... it is proposed to supplement the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation with a mechanism providing for the confiscation of money, valuables and other property used or intended for their financing,” note the authors of the initiative.
First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Viktor Vodolatsky explained in a conversation with RT the relevance of the project.
