Arab leaders agreed at the end of their 30th summit in Tunis to reject the United States' decision to recognize Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights and disagreed on the date and venue of the upcoming summit.

The final statement of the Arab summit affirmed that the decision to recognize Israel's sovereignty over the Golan is null and void, considering that any decision or action aimed at its legal or geographical status is illegal.

The statement also called for an end to the Israeli occupation in accordance with the principle of "land for peace" and hinted at the importance of comprehensive peace as an Arab option according to the Arab peace initiative.

He reiterated the centrality of the question of Palestine in joint Arab action and the Arab identity of occupied East Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Palestine, calling for the re-launching of serious negotiations that would guarantee a comprehensive and just peace.

The statement, read by Tunisian Foreign Minister Khamis al-Jahnawi, said it was unacceptable to continue the current situation that has transformed the Arab region into regional and sectarian conflicts and a haven for terrorist groups.

On the Arab inter-Arab differences, the statement pointed out that Arab national reconciliation is the starting point necessary to strengthen the immunity of the Arab region.

He stressed that the continuation of differences and conflicts in the region contributed to the depletion of many Arab energies and weaken solidarity and allow intervention in the affairs of the region, calling for the strengthening of joint Arab action.

The statement also stressed the rejection of Iranian interference in Arab affairs, stressing the importance of working to reach settlements to the crises of Syria and Libya and preserve the territorial integrity of Iraq, the stability of Lebanon and the development of Somalia.

Arab leaders called on Iran to work with Arab states on the basis of good-neighborly relations and without interference by either side in the internal affairs of the other.

The statement condemned the targeting of Saudi territory by Houthi missiles, stressing that the security of the Kingdom is part of Arab security.
