A Palestinian youth was killed and at least 30 were injured Saturday night when settlers attacked the village of Mughair, northeast of Ramallah in the West Bank.

The correspondent of Al Jazeera Net Mervat Sadiq told local sources that the young student Taleb Na'san, 38, died after being shot in the chest.

The sources reported that six live bullets, including a serious injury, reached the Palestinian Medical Complex in Ramallah.

The head of the village council in Mughir Amin Abu Alia said that armed settlers attacked the houses of the people in the northern outskirts of the village, and shot at their windows and water tanks.

According to Abu Aliya, the villagers attacked the settlers' attack, but about 20 of them were wounded by settlers and the Israeli occupation forces, which later came to offer protection to the settlers.

Al-Jazeera.net correspondent Atef Daghlas told the Palestinian Red Crescent that more than 30 injuries were caused by the shooting, and that the wounded were taken to health centers, especially in the neighboring villages.

The village of Mughir is witnessing peaceful demonstrations in the territories threatened by confiscation from the occupation, and protesting the establishment of an outpost on the land east of the village, where the settlement of "Normal Aad" from which settlers set out to attack the village every period.
