Scarlett Johansson believes she was over-sexualized by the studios early in her career.

“I think everyone thought I was older and [playing] a long time.

I got stuck in this weird hypersexualization,” the actress recalled during a stint on Dax Shepard's

Armchair Expert

podcast .



So much so that she thought her career was "over", certain that she would henceforth subscribe to a type of role that she had not chosen.

"I attributed that a lot to the fact that people thought I was much, much older than I was," she added.

A Hollywood straitjacket which she had a terrible time getting rid of when she wanted to give a new turn to her career in her mid-twenties.

Until the moment when she realized that this cataloging didn't matter that much anymore.

A smoother look

"It kind of stopped being something desirable and something I was fighting against," Scarlett Johansson continued.

But to hear it, this changeover was not so much due to a change of look of Hollywood against him as on a more general level.

“Now I see younger actors in their twenties.

I feel like they are allowed to embody very different things, she remarked.
