"My knee twisted during an attack in the attack, in a movement I've probably done 100 times before," Voutilainen said of the injury she sustained in a training session.
Skuru announces that the 23-year-old team captain has suffered a cruciate ligament injury in his left knee.
"It feels really tough not to continue playing the rest of the season with the girls, but I hope to get back into the action next season," she says.
Second cruciate ligament injury
This is the second time that Voutilainen has suffered a cruciate ligament injury. Five years ago, she injured her right knee.
"Needless to say, we are suffering badly with her now and our focus going forward is to give her the best possible conditions to come back. She has done it before, knows what it takes and no one doubts that she can do it again, says Skuru's chairman Jonas Johansson.
After eleven games played, Skuru is in second place in the handball league, with the same number of points as the league leader Sävehof.
