At 18:51 on August 9th, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake occurred in Xinjiang Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture (40.09 degrees north latitude, 75.95 degrees east longitude) with a focal depth of 15 kilometers.

The epicenter area was located near Tukumati Township in Atushi City, and the earthquake was felt obviously.

  After the earthquake, the Xinjiang Fire and Rescue Corps immediately launched an earthquake emergency response plan, and simultaneously mobilized 2 heavy teams in Urumqi and Kashgar, 2 light teams in Bazhou and Aksu, and 1 mobile team in Hotan. A total of 65 vehicles and 350 people were ready to gather reinforcements. .

The earthquake rescue advance team of the Kezhou Fire Rescue Detachment has immediately assembled 13 vehicles and 65 people to rush to the epicenter area. The detachment dispatched and assembled the earthquake rescue advance team of the fire brigade of neighboring counties and cities as soon as possible to prepare for earthquake rescue at any time.

  Up to now, no house collapse, casualties and other related disasters have been found. The road leading to the epicenter area is unblocked and the communication network is normal. No casualties and property damage reports have been received.
