Magnitude 4.8 earthquake shakes New York region. There have been no reports of damage or injuries in the city so far.
The epicenter was in the US state of New Jersey, about 65 kilometers from New York. People in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Connecticut and other areas of the northeastern United States also reported tremors. The tremors, which lasted several seconds, were also felt more than 300 kilometers away near the border between Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 4.7 kilometers.
