Around 0:30 pm on the 15th, the Tokyo Fire Department was notified that "a child is drowning" in the Tama River in Akiruno City, Tokyo, and when firefighters and police officers searched for it, a junior high school student was found in the river about an hour later. Found inside and taken to the hospital but died.



According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, the deceased junior high school student was a 13-year-old second-year male student living in Hamura City, who came to the river with five friends.



According to the investigation so far, a friend who was with me said, "I was drowning when I was playing in the river."



The river at the site is more than 4 meters deep, and the Metropolitan Police Department thinks that it drowned while playing in the river, and is investigating the situation at that time and calling attention to water accidents.
