“As part of the consideration of the case, the antimonopoly authority is investigating possible anticompetitive practices for promoting the services of the Yandex LLC group in search results, and will also assess the consequences that such practices have led (could have led),” the FAS said.
The message says that "Yandex" may be assigned a turnover fine on the amount of revenue in the market, if the fact of violation and restriction of competition from the company's actions is established.
In February, the FAS issued a warning to Yandex for creating “discriminatory conditions” in the search engine and promoting its own resources.
Yandex said they did not agree with the FAS warning. The company noted that "some of the requirements of the prescription have already been implemented in the search," stressing that they consider certain important parts of the FAS requirement to be "wrong".
