Accused of rape by the author Florence Porcel, Patrick Poivre d'Arvor assures that he "never forced anyone to a sentimental relationship, nor of course to a sexual relationship".

In a text published on his Facebook page, the former presenter of the TF1 JT said he was "revolted".

The former star presenter of the television news Patrick Poivre d'Arvor denies any form of control or constraint vis-à-vis the author Florence Porcel who accuses him of rape, and says he is "rebellious", in a text published on his Facebook page.

"There has never been any form of control, nor a fortiori of constraint," writes PPDA in this text published Friday evening.

"The writings of Madame Florence Porcel that I have kept, for the most part subsequent to her accusations, will amply prove it", he adds.

"In all my life I have never forced anyone to a sentimental relationship, or of course to a sexual relationship," writes the former presenter of the TF1 newspaper.

Florence Porcel has filed a rape complaint against the former television star: accusations she unveils in a novel,

released in early January.

PPDA denounces in this regard, as he has already done through his lawyer, the use made of his person "to ensure the promotion of a novel".

"Unbearable" attacks

"The search for notoriety does not excuse everything. Nor does the fascination with what shines", writes the journalist, 73 years old.

He admits to having maintained a "brotherly" relationship with the author, claiming to have even defended her on several occasions.

“Until then, I had friendly relations with her and shared her taste for literature. Several times I supported her when she published books or during her dealings with journalists,” he writes.

"For me, the defense of the cause of women has always been a subject of primary importance. I therefore live these attacks very painfully. And my family and my relatives consider them unbearable," he wrote, adding to be available to investigators to "restore his honor and the truth of the facts".

A preliminary investigation opened

The Nanterre prosecutor's office said Thursday that it had opened a preliminary investigation after this complaint, confirming information from the
