Franco-Polish filmmaker Roman Polanski will be tried in a civil trial in August 2025 in California for the rape of a minor in 1973. The civil trial, scheduled for August 2025, is mainly dedicated to the victim, nicknamed “Robin” for a time and presented as Jane Doe in her complaint.
The victim believes her lawyer Gloria Allred, figure of the #MeToo movement and representative of victims of the fallen producer Harvey Weinstein. According to the complaint, Polanski took this teenager to dinner in a Los Angeles restaurant in 1973 and allegedly made her drink tequila then took her home.
