Off the coast of Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan's exclusive economic zone, the Japan Coast Guard survey vessel was intermittently requested by the Korea Coast Guard vessel to stop the investigation from the morning of the 22nd.

The Japan Coast Guard protested South Korea through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the second time in this year.

According to the Japan Coast Guard, before 6:30 am on the 22nd, the Japan Coast Guard survey vessel "Takuyo" began a survey near 163 km west of Meshima in the Goto Islands in Nagasaki Prefecture, which is the exclusive economic zone of Japan. However, a ship from the Korea Coast Guard intermittently requested that the investigation be stopped by radio.

The content of the request is that "This is the area under the jurisdiction of South Korea and the investigation is illegal. Stop immediately and move out."

In response, the Japan Coast Guard replied, "We are conducting legitimate research activities in Japan's exclusive economic zone. Immediately stop the request for cancellation and leave the ship."

According to the Japan Coast Guard, another survey vessel "Akihiro" was also requested to cancel near the site this month from the 11th to the 16th of this month, and this is the second time it has entered, protesting South Korea through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I did it.

The Japan Coast Guard will continue the investigation as scheduled.
