US ambassador to the United Nations to visit Japan and South Korea, including Nagasaki, an atomic bombed city. The two countries confirmed their policy to strengthen cooperation on issues such as North Korea, which is proceeding with missile development.
U.N. Ambassador Thomas Greenfield will visit Japan after South Korea and is scheduled to meet with government officials in Tokyo. He will also meet with the families of victims abducted by North Korea. U.S. Ambassador to Japan Emanuel visited Nagasaki last December.
