In Iraq, where the government is the target of a protest movement that has shaken the country since the beginning of October, a daily struggle is being waged around the bridges of Baghdad leading to the Green Zone. This sector, located on the other side of the Tigris, is home to the highest institutions of Iraq and the main Western embassies. Three bridges were recently taken by the police to the protesters, but they keep up the pressure every day.

Some of them have made the Green Zone their ultimate goal, even if it remains out of reach for the moment. Report from our special envoys in Iraq, Jonathan Walsh, Amar al-Hameedawi and James André.
