Guangzhou plans to legislate on house safety: it is prohibited to convert balconies into kitchens or bathrooms during renovations. The issue of house safety once again aroused social concern.
Guangzhou Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau is soliciting opinions on the issue. The "Regulations" stipulate that the installation and use of anti-theft nets, outdoor advertising and other ancillary facilities shall not affect the safety of the facade of the house or endanger public safety. If there are potential safety hazards, the city management comprehensive law enforcement department shall order corrections within a time limit.
