Japan Post Bank has announced a personnel change in which President Kento Ikeda will retire on the 31st of next month, and Vice President Takayuki Kasama will be promoted to his successor as president.

Mr. Ikeda, who is retiring from his position, served as a director of the Bank of Yokohama, and then took on the role of president of Ashikaga Bank, which had gone bankrupt and was temporarily nationalized, in order to rebuild its management.



He became president of Japan Post Bank in 2016, and in addition to expanding investment in startups, he has diversified the company's business by deepening ties with regional banks.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kasama joined Japan Post Bank as an executive officer nine years ago after working at a foreign securities company, and has been serving as vice president since June last year.
