The fall continues for Atos, the now former French IT flagship. The capital increase project, which was to enable it to relaunch itself, has just been abandoned. The sanction was immediate with, on the stock market, a fall of 58% at the start of 2024. It is a fall scrutinized very closely by the State since Atos is notably responsible for the IT security of the Olympic Games .

Atos is a key player in Internet security. Defense, nuclear, supercomputers or even management of services such as SNCF and Linky meters... its prerogatives are numerous. Discreet, but essential, the group is experiencing a spectacular descent into hell, the fault of risky and questionable choices in the 2010s as well as missed turns like that of the public cloud. As a result, company data servers find themselves managed by Amazon, Google or Microsoft.

Negotiations with Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský for the takeover of Atos' historic activities are not moving forward, while those with Airbus for strategic activities, such as cybersecurity, are viewed favorably by the State.

A very uncomfortable situation for the IOC's IT partner, who will therefore have to manage the Olympic Games and respond to an information mission launched by the Senate. This mission could even ultimately turn into a commission of inquiry.
